Installing Older Versions of SAMSON Without Hassle.

Molecular modelers often face unique challenges requiring specific software versions. Sometimes, the latest version of a platform might not yet support certain workflows or extensions, making access to older versions essential. Fortunately, SAMSON allows users to easily install older versions while maintaining flexibility and control over their setup.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you install an older version of SAMSON:

Step 1: Launch the Installer

Start by running the usual SAMSON installer. You don’t need a separate package – the same installer that sets up the latest version can also give you access to older versions.

Step 2: Opt for an Older Version

During the second step of the installation process, you’ll see an option to Install an older version. Select this checkbox, as shown in the image below:

Step 3: Choose Your Version

Next, proceed to the screen where you can specify which version to install. Each version is listed with its developer version number, such as “2.0.2.” To understand which number corresponds to which release year, refer to the list of User Guides for SAMSON versions. This makes it easy to select the version that suits your needs.
