Creating engaging molecular presentations can be challenging. Molecular modelers often face the problem of pacing their presentations effectively, ensuring their audience has enough time to absorb key information without being overwhelmed. If you’ve struggled with pacing, SAMSON’s Stop animation feature can be a valuable ally.
The Stop animation is designed to halt a presentation at a specific frame, allowing you or your audience to focus on critical details. This pause gives you a chance to explain complex molecular interactions, structural details, or other essential aspects without rushing through frames.
How to Use the Stop Animation Feature
Integrating the Stop animation into your presentation workflow is straightforward:
- Go to the Animation panel within the Animator module.
- Double-click on the Stop animation effect. A new keyframe will immediately be added at the current frame.
- If necessary, drag and drop the keyframe to the desired frame where you want your presentation to pause.
During the presentation, when the animation reaches the keyframe assigned to the Stop effect, it will pause. Resuming the presentation is as simple as pressing the Space key or clicking the Play button. This functionality makes it perfect for effectively subdividing your molecular presentation into clear, digestible slides.
Pro Tip
Don’t forget you can always move keyframes to adjust their timing, ensuring you maintain the perfect flow for your presentation.
Why Use Stop Animations?
Many presentations suffer from excessive speed, leaving little time for comprehension or engagement. By leveraging the Stop animation, you can:
- Break your presentation into clear sections, allowing focused discussions on each molecular feature.
- Give your audience more time to digest complex structural and dynamical information.
- Focus attention on critical frames and avoid overwhelming your audience with continuous animation.
Whether you’re presenting protein-ligand interactions, complex molecular dynamics, or visually rich conformational analyses, this feature ensures more control and clarity for you and your audience.
