Easily Share and Control Molecular Documents with SAMSON Connect.

Collaboration is a cornerstone of molecular modeling projects, whether you’re sharing your latest design or seeking feedback from colleagues. But ensuring access control and managing visibility of shared files can quickly become a challenge. This is where SAMSON Connect provides an efficient, user-friendly solution for sharing molecular documents while maintaining complete control.

Why Document Sharing Matters in Molecular Design

As a molecular modeler, your research and designs are collaborative efforts. Rapidly sharing ideas and results with peers—whether in academia, industry, or multidisciplinary teams—is critical to ensuring innovation and efficiency. However, sharing files often raises concerns about access permissions, maintaining document versions, or limiting visibility to specific users. Quick fixes like emailing files back and forth or sharing through unstructured platforms often fall short.

SAMSON Connect tackles this pain point by offering a centralized, secure interface for sharing and controlling molecular design documents. Whether you’re co-designing molecules or disseminating research, managing your shared documents is straightforward.

How to Share Documents Using SAMSON Connect

To start sharing documents through SAMSON Connect:

  • Navigate to Home > Publish directly from your SAMSON application.
  • Complete the dialog window: assign a document name, add a description, and set its visibility level (Public, Hidden, or Restricted).
  • Click Publish document. Once published, you’ll receive a sharable link, and your file will be available on SAMSON Connect – Documents.

The document visibility options are especially useful:

  • Public: Everyone has access to the document, but only users with editing rights can modify it.
  • Hidden: The document is accessible only via a shared link; editing permissions still apply.
  • Restricted: Only specified users with access rights can view or edit the document.

Streamline Access Control and Collaboration

Once your documents are on SAMSON Connect, you can adjust access settings anytime. This flexibility is invaluable for adapting to collaborative needs as projects evolve. For example, if an external collaborator requires access, you can grant permissions or send a Hidden link without exposing the document publicly.

You can also manage all your shared documents—as well as those shared with you—directly from your account on SAMSON Connect. Here, you’ll find tools for organizing files, updating descriptions, or even withdrawing access if necessary.
