For many molecular modelers, running heavy simulations locally can be time-consuming and computationally expensive. That’s why cloud-based services like AlphaFold, NVIDIA BioNeMo, or GROMACS, integrated into SAMSON, have become increasingly popular. However, once your job finishes running in the cloud, what’s the easiest way to share those results with your collaborators—or restrict access when necessary?
Enter SAMSON Connect, which offers an intuitive interface to manage, view, and share cloud jobs, all from your web browser. If you’ve ever emailed back-and-forth about simulation outputs or scrambled to find the correct link for someone—this post is for you.
Where to Find Your Jobs
Jobs you run from SAMSON in the cloud are automatically linked to your account on SAMSON Connect. Simply click on Jobs in your user menu to access them.

What Can You Do?
Clicking on a job entry opens access to all files generated by that job. You can preview or download specific files via the right-click context menu:

Control Who Sees What
By default, your job results are marked Restricted: only you can access them. But collaboration often requires flexibility. You can adjust visibility settings to:
- Public – anyone can access the job.
- Hidden – only people with the link can access it.
- Restricted – specific people or groups must be granted access.
How to Grant Access
If you’re the job owner, you can grant viewing or editing rights to:
- Individuals (by username or email)
- Groups you’ve created or are part of
This flexibility allows you to selectively give access to collaborators without compromising the security or confidentiality of your data.
Why This Matters
Whether you’re collaborating across institutions or simply need a colleague to review simulation outputs, SAMSON Connect removes friction by combining a cloud compute backend with detailed access controls. You no longer need to send ZIP archives full of files or juggle sharing settings on third-party platforms.
It’s all part of making molecular modeling more accessible and collaborative, especially when research teams are distributed all over the world.
