Installing and Managing SAMSON Extensions: A Practical Guide for Molecular Modelers

For molecular modelers working with complex systems, choosing and managing the right computational tools can often feel overwhelming. SAMSON addresses this challenge through its extensibility: you can adapt the platform to your needs by installing Extensions (also known as SAMSON Extensions) โ€” modules that add specific functionalities, from simulation tools to visualization options.

But with so many options available, how do you actually add, try, and manage these Extensions effectively? This guide gives you a walkthrough of how to manage Extensions using SAMSON Connect โ€” the web platform for accessing SAMSON and its components.

๐Ÿ” Browsing the SAMSON Marketplace

All available Extensions are listed on the Marketplace section of SAMSON Connect. You can browse modules developed for various purposes: molecular mechanics, quantum chemistry, AI-powered modeling, and more. Each Extension has its own page describing its features, compatible OS, version info, and authors.
