Molecular modeling can be complex, especially when you’re trying to learn a new platform. Even experienced researchers may find themselves spending too much time trying to figure out how to perform basic operations in a new interface. Starting over again and again, parsing through static guides, or watching lengthy video tutorials isn’t always the best use of time. If you’re working with SAMSON, the integrative platform for molecular design, there’s a smoother way to get up to speed: interactive tutorials built directly into the interface.
SAMSON includes a selection of interactive tutorials that guide you through tasks right inside the software. There’s no need to switch between your browser and the application, or scramble to find the right menu. These tutorials are especially helpful for users new to SAMSON who want to become productive quickly, or researchers exploring a specific feature for the first time.
To access these tutorials, simply open SAMSON, then navigate to Help > Tutorials. From there, you’ll see a list of available tutorials. Pick one, click Start tutorial, and follow along. The tutorial will walk you through steps inside the SAMSON user interface, pointing to buttons, windows, and workflows directly within the software itself.
This type of embedded tutorial is especially useful for molecular modelers transitioning from other platforms, as it eliminates guesswork and offers immediate feedback. Rather than reading static documentation and attempting to recreate steps on your own, you are guided through them in real-time. That means fewer errors, better understanding, and ultimately more time designing and analyzing molecules.
If you want to exit a tutorial, it’s just as easy: simply close the tip window that appears in the top-right corner of the Viewport. And if you want to revisit a tutorial or reset the process, you can always start it over again from the same Help menu.
SAMSON Extensions also come with their own tutorials, available through the official SAMSON Extensions Tutorials page. These include more advanced or specialized workflows depending on the type of modeling or simulations you’re working on.

Whether it’s your first time using SAMSON or you’re exploring a new feature, these built-in tutorials offer a practical and efficient learning path. Try a tutorial the next time you’re trying something new—you may end up saving more time than you expect.
