Effortlessly Showcase Molecular Dynamics with the Show Animation in SAMSON

Molecular modelers often face challenges in visually presenting the dynamics or structures of their models, especially when clarity and impactful storytelling are key. Have you ever struggled to highlight the emergence or visibility of key elements in your molecular presentations? This is where the Show animation in SAMSON becomes a helpful solution.

What Is the Show Animation?

The Show animation in SAMSON enables users to seamlessly highlight specific nodes in their molecular scene. Instead of adjusting transparency or layers manually, this animation allows nodes to appear at a chosen keyframe and remain visible throughout the desired sequence. It combines the functionalities of Hidden and Shown animations into a single, efficient effect.

This functionality is especially useful for visualizing molecules, proteins, or any other elements in an animated workflow, making your presentations far clearer and visually engaging.

How to Add the Show Animation

To incorporate the Show animation into your work, follow these straightforward steps:

  • First, select the nodes you want to present dynamically.
  • Next, double-click on the Show animation effect within the Animation panel found in the Animator module of SAMSON.

The Show animation uses three keyframes to manage node visibility:

  • Keyframe 1 to Keyframe 2: The selected nodes will remain hidden.
  • Keyframe 2: At this point, the nodes will become visible, effectively appearing in the presentation.
  • Keyframe 2 to Keyframe 3: The nodes remain visible throughout this sequence.

You can adjust the placement of these keyframes as needed to fine-tune the timing of the animation according to your presentation.

Customization and Fine-Tuning

For added flexibility, you can adjust how animations transition between frames by modifying the Easing curve. This allows you to explore customized velocity settings for even smoother and more visually appealing animations, tailored to your specific molecular models and audience.
