Creating compelling molecular animations is often an essential part of presenting your findings effectively. However, have you ever wished you could pause at a crucial frame to let your audience absorb a particularly important detail? With SAMSON’s Pause animation, you can now effortlessly achieve that.
Why Pausing Is Crucial in Molecular Animations
Animations are powerful tools for illustrating molecular mechanisms or design processes. Yet, when moving quickly between frames, important details can sometimes be missed. A well-timed pause allows you to focus viewer attention, emphasize particular features, or explain complex concepts at their own rhythm. Pausing ensures that key moments in your visualization resonate fully with your audience.
How to Add the Pause Animation
In SAMSON, the Pause animation can be added in just a few clicks. To add a pause:
- Navigate to the Animation panel of the Animator.
- Double-click on the Pause animation effect.
- The keyframe will automatically be positioned at the current frame in your animation timeline, but you can move it as needed.
That’s it! You’ve now added a pause to your animation. Remember, you can always reposition the keyframes to adjust the timing of the effect, ensuring it aligns perfectly with your narrative flow.
Customizing the Pause Duration
The duration of the pause is customizable, giving you control over how long your audience can focus on a specific frame. To adjust this, look for the properties of the Pause animation in the Inspector. All you need to do is:
- Select the Pause animation node in the Document view.
- Adjust the duration property in the Inspector.
This allows you to strategically control the pacing of your animations, ensuring the audience has enough time to understand critical frames.
A Helpful Note
Keep in mind that the Pause animation is a flexible effect. You can reposition its keyframes or modify its duration at any time, even after you’ve added it to your animation. This flexibility ensures your storytelling is always adaptable to changes in your presentation needs.

Transform Your Molecular Animations
Whether you’re presenting to colleagues, teaching students, or preparing a public outreach video, adding pauses to your animations can be an invaluable tool. The ability to control the pace ensures your audience stays engaged and retains the information you’re presenting.
