Sharing and collaborating on molecular modeling documents can sometimes feel like navigating through a maze of email attachments, version confusion, and permission settings. Fortunately, SAMSON Connect offers a straightforward solution for seamless document sharing and management. In this post, we break down how you can effectively share, manage, and collaborate on your modeling documents using SAMSON Connect's intuitive platform.
Why Document Sharing Matters
In the process of molecular modeling, multiple stakeholders—colleagues, research groups, or industry partners—are often involved. Sharing insights, datasets, or visualizations is crucial to ensure everyone stays on the same page. However, maintaining control over who accesses and edits which documents can be a challenge. This is where SAMSON Connect steps in to simplify the process.
How to Share Your Documents
Using SAMSON Connect, you can easily make your documents accessible to others while maintaining control over visibility and permissions. Here’s how:
- Navigate to the Home section in SAMSON and select the Publish option.
- Fill in a dialog box with the following information:
- Document name: Give your document a clear and specific name.
- Description: Provide context or details about the molecular modeling document.
- Visibility settings: Choose the level of accessibility for your document:
- Public: Open to everyone, but editing requires access rights.
- Hidden: Accessible to anyone with the link, but editing requires access rights.
- Restricted: Both viewing and editing require explicit access rights.
- Click Publish Document. Your document will now be shared via SAMSON Connect – Documents, and a link to the shared document will be generated instantly.
This streamlined process ensures minimal effort while giving you full control over accessibility and collaborations.
Managing and Accessing Shared Documents
Once your documents are shared, SAMSON Connect makes it easy to manage and access them. Here’s what you can do:
- Control access settings and update permissions directly from your SAMSON Connect account.
- View all documents shared with you, as well as those you’ve published, in one convenient space.
- Quickly distribute links to collaborators when needed.
These features enable you to maintain order and clarity, ensuring your projects stay on track and miscommunications are reduced.
