Simplify Your Molecular Modeling Workflow with SAMSON Extensions.

For molecular modelers, managing tools and functionalities can often become a time-consuming ordeal. How do you efficiently add functionalities tailored to your needs, experiment with new tools, or ensure a seamless integration? The SAMSON Extensions Marketplace offers a one-stop solution to this common challenge.

What Are SAMSON Extensions?

Think of SAMSON Extensions as specialized modules for the SAMSON platform. They allow you to add new functionalities, from advanced computational tools to visualization modules, enriching your molecular modeling capabilities. The SAMSON Extensions Marketplace provides an intuitive way to browse, install, and manage these extensions.

Add Extensions with Ease

The Marketplace offers extensions that are

  • freely accessible,
  • included depending on your current SAMSON plan, or
  • available through a subscription mechanism.

To add a free extension, signed-in users simply click the Add button. No complex installation steps or unnecessary configuration—the extension is seamlessly added to your SAMSON installation and is marked as “Added.” Once you restart SAMSON, the new extension is automatically downloaded and installed, ready to use in your molecular design workflows.

Try and Subscribe to Premium Tools

Some extensions are available on a subscription basis, often offering cutting-edge capabilities. Before committing to a subscription, you can easily request a trial without needing to provide credit card information. During the trial period, the extension you’re testing is labeled as “Trying,” helping you keep track of your current experiments with premium tools.

When you decide to subscribe, several plans are available, including options for academic use. A subscribed extension is clearly marked as “Subscribed,” ensuring transparency in managing your toolset.

Removing Extensions

Managing your environment is just as important as adding to it. To remove an extension, navigate to your account settings or the extension’s page on the Marketplace. Hover over the “Added” button, which will switch to “Remove,” and confirm the action. This process ensures that your workspace remains streamlined and free of unused tools.
