Trying, adding, or removing modules in SAMSON: what every molecular modeler should know

Molecular modelers often juggle multiple tools to simulate, visualize, or analyze molecular systems. One common frustration is having to manually install, update, or deactivate plug-ins or packages when testing new workflows or optimizing performance. If you use SAMSON, there’s a streamlined way to manage your modules—called SAMSON Extensions—directly from the SAMSON Connect Marketplace.

In this guide, we’ll walk through how to efficiently try, add, subscribe to, or remove SAMSON Extensions. Whether you want to explore a new tool without commitment or manage your current suite, these steps can make a big difference in your daily molecular modeling tasks.

Accessing the SAMSON Marketplace

You can reach the Marketplace by signing in to SAMSON Connect and navigating to the Marketplace section. There, you’ll find an interface listing all available extensions with descriptions, supported platforms, compatibility details, and more:

Removed extensions remain visible in your account so that you can re-add them later if needed.

Less Hassle, More Modeling

Switching between tools and managing licenses manually can slow down your research pace. SAMSON Connect centralizes everything, making it easy to test new ideas, build a custom modeling environment, and adapt your setup as projects evolve. No more digging through folders or reinstalling extensions—everything is cloud-synced and one click away.
