Collaboration is at the heart of scientific progress, and in molecular modeling, sharing your work efficiently and securely is crucial. Whether you want to publish groundbreaking insights or share data with collaborators, SAMSON’s document sharing capabilities let you do that seamlessly.
Why Share Molecular Documents?
Imagine this: You’ve just finished a complex molecular analysis in SAMSON, and now you need to share your findings with your lab colleagues or collaborators across the globe. Instead of emailing bulky files or worrying about software compatibility, SAMSON enables you to upload and share documents directly via SAMSON Connect. This makes sharing straightforward while offering control over access and visibility.
How to Share Your Documents
Sharing documents on SAMSON Connect is very simple. Here’s how:
- Navigate to Home > Publish within the SAMSON platform.
- In the dialog window that opens, provide your document’s name and description. Be as detailed as possible to help others understand your project.
- Select the document visibility setting. SAMSON provides three levels of visibility to suit different collaboration needs:
- Public: Your document is accessible to everyone, though editing requires permissions.
- Hidden: Only users with the specific link can access the document, and editing still requires permissions.
- Restricted: Access and editing are limited to specified users.
- Once everything is set, click Publish document. Your document will now appear on SAMSON Connect – Documents.
An additional benefit is that once your document is published, SAMSON generates a direct link, allowing you to easily share it with your collaborators.

Control and Collaboration
Once shared, you maintain control over your documents. On your SAMSON Connect account, you can manage shared documents by adjusting access rights, editing details, or updating the visibility status. This ensures you can tailor document access to meet the needs of each collaboration.
Effortless Downloading of Shared Work
Collaborators who have been granted access to your documents can download them using SAMSON’s intuitive interface. From the Home menu, they need to select Download, and the document appears in their SAMSON workspace with all embedded files and molecular data intact. This minimizes back-and-forth data preparation and facilitates faster project collaboration.

When Sharing Research Means Streamlining Workflows
Being able to collaborate effectively, even across distances, is becoming ever more essential in research workflows. SAMSON’s document sharing tools not only simplify this process but enhance it by providing easy visibility controls and guaranteeing that embedded data (like Python scripts, molecular models, or files) remains accessible and organized.
