Claim Your Scientific Identity with a Public Profile on SAMSON Connect

When collaborating across institutions and disciplines, visibility and clarity of roles make a real difference. As a molecular modeler or computational scientist, you’ve probably shared files across cloud drives and sent endless emails introducing yourself and your expertise. But what if all of this could be centralised and contextualized on the same platform where you already work?

The public profile feature on SAMSON Connect allows researchers, developers, and educators using the SAMSON molecular design platform to define and share their professional identity within their scientific ecosystem. More than a basic bio, your SAMSON Connect profile becomes the gateway to collaboration, discoverability, and streamlined communication with other scientists.

Why Set Up a Public Profile?

  • Claim your handle: You can secure a unique public username (handle) for your profile, making it easier for others to find you in the SAMSON community.
  • Create rich, formatted bios: With Markdown support, you’re not limited to plain text. You can include formatted content, links, images, and more—perfect for showcasing your key projects or summarizing your focus areas.
  • Link your networks together: Add links to external networks such as LinkedIn, GitHub, ResearchGate, and X (Twitter), so others can see a full picture of your scientific presence.
  • Help others find your work: When you share documents or jobs on SAMSON Connect, your profile acts as a point of reference—and vice versa. Your collaborators can instantly learn more about your background.

Here’s where you go to start: Open the User menu on SAMSON Connect and click on Profile.

Who Will Benefit from a Public Profile?

Consider the following use cases:

  • New lab members can quickly understand your role and responsibilities.
  • Potential collaborators exploring your shared simulations, jobs, or models can reach out directly.
  • Students or newcomers to a group can orient themselves around who’s working on what.

Making your presence visible and searchable on SAMSON Connect doesn’t just enhance your personal visibility—it supports clearer, more efficient collaboration.
