For molecular modelers, building connections and sharing insights efficiently can be challenging. Crafting an accessible and well-organized public profile can help improve visibility and collaboration within the scientific community. SAMSON Connect makes this process intuitive, allowing you to share information about yourself, your expertise, and your work while maintaining full control over what is displayed publicly.
Why a Public Profile Matters
In the molecular modeling world, collaboration often requires trust and knowledge of one’s expertise. A well-crafted public profile on SAMSON Connect allows others to learn about your work, join your groups, or collaborate on projects. Think of your profile as your digital business card: the more complete it is, the easier it becomes to foster meaningful professional relationships.
How to Create and Edit Your Profile
Getting started with your public profile is straightforward. Log in to SAMSON Connect and navigate to the User menu > Profile. You will be presented with options to customize your profile:
- Public handle of your choice: Claim a unique public handle to represent your profile. Note: handles are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so act quickly to reserve yours.
- Extensive biography: Add details about your expertise, projects, and achievements. You can enter up to 20,000 characters using Markdown for easy formatting, including headings, bullet points, links, and images.
- Social media links: Include links to your professional networks, such as LinkedIn, ResearchGate, GitHub, or X (formerly Twitter), so that collaborators can easily learn more about you.
